Handmade, one pair at a time.
Dambira shoes are actually quite simple—the result of a thoughtful combination of three elements: our exclusive, high-quality leathers, a unique hand-sewn construction, and the expertise of highly skilled artisans.

Meet the Maestro!
Since 2014, we've had the honor of collaborating with Mohamed Bahi, the artisan behind our workshop. What began in a 6-square-meter space has grown into a well-organized unit where tradition is honored. With the help of his brother and his team of four, Mohamed continues to craft each piece by hand—staying true to authentic methods, with the only modern touch being a polishing machine.
Your questions, our answers
How to determine my ideal shoe size
Our slippers vary in size from one model to another, depending on the design and materials used. Therefore, we recommend carefully reviewing the information on each product page. You'll find specific advice on choosing the perfect size.
To make things easier for you, we have designed a size simulator available on the following page: https://artisanat-shop.com/pages/guide-des-tailles
How should my pair fit?
For a perfect fit, your Dambira should feel quite snug at first. Being made entirely of natural leather, they will gradually soften and mold to the shape of your feet over time.
Your toes can touch the end of the slipper with light pressure, but without curling.
It usually takes between 3 and 5 wears for your Dambira to begin to relax and fully adapt to your body shape.
Can I return my pair for a refund, credit or exchange?
Of course !
We gladly accept returns of NEW and UNWORN Dambira. For more information and to initiate a request, please visit our returns page.
We also offer returns for new, unworn orders placed within Europe, within 30 days of receipt.
Can I have my Dambira resoled?
Yes — the rubber outsoles of your Dambiras protect the traditional leather sole underneath, and can be easily replaced by any shoemaker.
It is important to monitor the wear of the rubber, especially at the heel, to prevent it from wearing completely and exposing the leather sole, which could damage it.
We recommend having the insoles serviced or replaced after 12 to 24 months of use, depending on usage.
What is the protective outsole made of?
The rubber we use for the outsoles of our Dambiras is thermoplastic rubber (TPR). This flexible, thin material is specifically chosen so as not to prevent the leather sole from adapting to the shape of your foot.
TPR stands out for several qualities: it is flexible, tear-resistant, reusable, recyclable, and offers good abrasion resistance.
These outsoles are applied to each pair of Dambiras using a mixture of glue and pressure. Their function is to protect the stitching as well as the real leather sole located in
How do I care for my Babouche?
To keep your slippers in good condition, avoid prolonged exposure to water or direct sunlight. Clean them gently with a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp sponge if necessary—never machine wash. For leather, you can occasionally use a natural leather conditioner to preserve its suppleness and color.
Store them in a cool, dry place and avoid folding the back when not in use to preserve their shape. With a little care, your slippers will age beautifully and remain a comfortable companion for years to come.
