International flights to Morocco are back on the agenda. Yes, you are not dreaming, you can enter Morocco but on condition that you present a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test dating back at least 48 hours before your entry into Morocco.
Formalities to complete to enter Morocco during the COVID crisis
Despite the decision of the State of Morocco to open its air borders, there are rules to be respected in order to be able to enter.
In order to implement this decision, the Moroccan State, under the advice of the Ministry of Health, adopted a classification into lists A and B of countries.
Passengers from List A nations are required to produce a vaccination certificate or vaccination pass to cross Moroccan borders. Persons who are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated must have a negative PCR test, dated no more than three days, upon boarding. This provision does not apply to children under 11 years of age. The vaccines recognized by Morocco are: AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sputnik, Pfizer/BioNTech, Janssen, Covishield, Moderna, Sinovac.
As for the countries on list B, their citizens are divided into two groups: travelers who have been vaccinated or who have a certificate proving that the person is vaccinated with one of the vaccines in force in Morocco; and unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people. The former are not subject to a quarantine period and must only present a negative PCR test dating back 48 hours at most before boarding. The second category must undergo a supervised quarantine for 10 days, after providing a negative PCR test dating back 48 hours at most, a declaration on honor completed and signed for a ten-day confinement and a slip attesting to this confinement. This confinement must have taken place in one of the hotels provided by the Moroccan state for this purpose. Another PCR test must be carried out on the ninth day.

People in transit
Moroccan authorities recommend a ten-day isolation if the traveler in transit comes from a country on list B. Isolation is not necessary if the traveler is in transit for more than ten days in a country on list A.
Which travelers are allowed to enter Morocco?
The two lists of countries are the result of the assessment of the epidemiological situation of each country carried out by the scientific committee of the Ministry of Health.
The countries to and from which access to Morocco is permitted are on list A.
List B includes countries that are not on list A and do not benefit from the same facilities as those on list A.
Given the evolving opening of borders, these two lists are updated every two weeks.
Regarding maritime borders
The maritime transit points for ''Operation Marhaba 2021'' will be the same as last year. These are: Genoa in Italy and Sète and Marseille in France in accordance with the aforementioned health conditions. However, travelers will have to undergo a second test once on the boat, in addition to the PCR test presented upon boarding. This measure will ensure better health security for passengers and their loved ones.

Staying safely in Morocco
We recommend that you always inform yourself about the health decisions taken by each country before planning a stay there. For Morocco, the state of health emergency remains in place in order to keep citizens and visitors safe.
Below are the measures applied by tourist establishments in Morocco, in order to ensure you have a better stay.
Cafes and restaurants
The opening of cafes and restaurants is accompanied by compliance with certain health rules. Wearing a mask is mandatory to enter and you must put it back on as soon as you are required to move around. Your temperature is checked at the entrance to the restaurant and you are invited to use hand sanitizer. The entrance doors are not close to the exit doors in order to protect customers.
Beaches, seaside establishments and wellness centres
Private seaside establishments are not left out when it comes to the health of their customers. Taking body temperature and disinfecting hands at the entrance is mandatory. Similarly, entrances are located away from exits in these centers. Wearing a mask and social distancing are mandatory in collective places. In order to fully benefit from these services, it is recommended to take all the information by calling beforehand and to respect the instructions presented at the reception of these centers. Public beaches are also open.
Hotels and accommodation establishments
In order to ensure the health safety of all visitors, the ''Welcome Safely'' certificate attesting to the compliance of accommodation structures with Covid-19 control protocols in Morocco is awarded by the relevant ministry. A reservation is required to stay in hotels, resorts, riads and other classified accommodation establishments.
You must keep your mask on in reception areas, dining rooms, and other common areas of these establishments. Temperature taking, hand disinfection at the entrance as well as minimum separation distance and hygiene are also required.
Museums and cultural sites
The opening of museums and other cultural venues is accompanied by temperature checks, the use of hand sanitizer at the entrance and the wearing of masks. Entrance and exit doors are separate and safety distance is required in queues. Inside, it is advisable to move along the marked and indicated routes and not to touch anything.
Cinemas and theaters
Cinemas and theaters are open and subject to the rules of wearing masks, temperature checks and hand disinfection upon entry. The seats inside are numbered and separated according to safety distancing measures. Everything is in place to protect you.
Natural parks, playgrounds and green spaces
These places are open to the public. Access is subject to the wearing of a mask and regular hand cleaning. Physical distancing measures are required. Access to private areas is subject to mandatory temperature checks and the use of disinfectant at the entrance, as well as the mandatory wearing of a mask.
Shops and other businesses
For the protection of oneself and others, wearing a mask is mandatory in stores, boutiques, shopping centers and convenience stores. Disinfectant gels are provided to customers at the entrances of all stores, as well as thermal scanners to check body temperature. Given the limited number of customers in these places, distancing must be observed in queues.
Tourist guides
Tour guides are equipped with audio equipment that is disinfected at the beginning and end of each tour, and a hygiene kit. Wearing a mask is mandatory during the tour, as is social distancing. Hands must also be disinfected after any contact.
Means of transport
You can get around using various means of transportation in Morocco: taxis, buses, trams, coaches, rental cars and trains.
You must keep your mask on in public transport, and maintain a minimum distance of 1.5m from other passengers. You must therefore sit only in reserved seats.
