A true must-see in Africa, Morocco is a country of dazzling diversity. Here you will discover rugged mountain ranges, lush green deserts, ancient cities, deserted beaches and very welcoming hospitality. With such a diverse geography, it is best to plan your visit to Morocco based on where you are traveling in the country.
High season: Mid March to May / September to October
Best time for mild temperatures
Spring and autumn are the most popular times to visit Morocco due to the pleasant temperatures in many parts of the country. However, there can be sandstorms in the spring in the Sahara and persistent rains in the north. Demand and prices for accommodation increase around Easter, when European families travel to Morocco to relax for this long weekend.
Shoulder season: November to February
The best time for more leisurely explorations
The cooler winter months are a great time to travel to the Sahara Desert. Marrakech and the south are popular at Christmas and New Year, but the northern part of the country can be cool and wet. Snow can make mountain roads impassable.
Low season: June to August
Best time to visit the coast
The best time of year when temperatures are very warm is ideal for discovering the beaches of the Moroccan coast, with accommodation prices being slightly reduced in the coastal towns.
